You may start your dog’s treatment with NexGard chews at any time of the year. This soft chew kills adult fleas before they can lay eggs, and thus prevents flea infestations. As for tick coverage, it treats and controls black-legged tick, American dog tick, lone star tick, brown dog tick, and longhorned tick infestations. With the treatment of black-legged ticks, NexGard helps prevent Borrelia burgdorferi infections in dogs. And when you administer the dosage every 30 days, this tasty chew helps you with your dog’s year-round protection against parasites.
How do NexGard Chews work?
NexGard Chewables contain afoxolaner as an effective ingredient. Afoxolaner ingestion results in overstimulation of the nervous system in fleas and ticks, resulting in their subsequent death.
Studies suggest that this fast-acting treatment begins to kill fleas in just four hours after administration and is 100% effective against adult fleas 24 hours post-infestation.
